Two-time Olympic gold medalist Vasyl Lomachenko of Ukraine fashioned out an impressive performance in his pro debut by sending tough Mexican slugger Jose Luis Ramirez to the canvas twice with powerful body shots en route to a 4th round knockout victory to capture the WBO International Featherweight Title at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas Saturday night on the undercard of the Timothy Bradley vs Juan Manuel Marquez megafight.

Lomachenko first sent Ramirez to the canvas midway in the first round with a right to the head and left to the midsection combo that sent Ramirez grimacing in pain and almost didn't beat the count. In the second and third rounds, Ramirez, who appeared to have recovered well from the first round knockdown, had his moments by pressuring Lomachenko no end that seemed to take away Lomachenko's balance. In the fourth round however, Lomachenko keeping his cool, adjusted with the right distance and tagged Ramirez with beautiful left-right combinations that stunned Ramirez. Finally, towards the end of the 4th round, Lomachenko landed another wicked shot to the body of Ramirez that sent Ramirez rolling to the canvas never to recover for the count.

Lomachenko now has 1W to his credit and there are talks that he may fight for a world title in January for his second professional fight. Ramirez, who beat the Philippines' Rey Bautista in his last fight last April in Davao City, went down to his fourth defeat in 25 fights.
