The old Miguel Cotto is back after the Puerto Rica superstar battered and stopped Delvin Rodriguez in three rounds during their 12-round scheduled junior middleweight contest at the Amway Center in Orlando. After dominating the first two rounds, Cotto finished off Rodriguez in the 3rd round with a flush left cross to the jaw that staggered Rodriguez to the ropes. Cotto followed it up with another left to the head as Referee Frank Santore Jr intervened to save Rodriguez for further punishment.

Cotto credited his brilliant performance to his new coach Freddie Roach during the post fight interview with HBO's Max Kellerman.

Roach, for his part, said that Cotto is definitely back and told Kellerman to "line 'em up" when asked if Cotto is ready to take the top fighters of the division, including Sergio Martinez and Canelo Alvarez.
