Carson, CA: After hearing the decision announced by Lupe Contreras, I thought I was at the Pacquiao-Bradley fight in Las Vegas!
Bryan Vera threw more punches and landed more of them than Julio Cesar Chavez Jr but in the end the judges gave it to Chavez. And, by unanimous decision.
What a shame!
And, I thought CJ Ross is only in Las Vegas.
Marty Denkin must be out there at left field while the fight was going. He gave the fight to Chavez by a score of 98-92.
And, Carla Cais? 97-93. I am not so sure.
The only right count was perhaps that of Gwen Adair but unfortunately she gave it also to Chavez.
California should be ashamed much like Las Vegas and CJ Ross.
Even the predominantly Mexican crowd who loves the Chavez clan was booing. And, there were sprinkling of ?marijuana, marijuana chants? from them.
Vera threw 734 punches and landed 176. While Chavez did 328 and landed 125.
Now, how in the world can a guy who threw less and landed less as well be judge the winner?
True, Chavez rocked Vera several times. But Vera did the same as well.
The best that could have done to remove the semblance of a fix was call the fight a draw.
But even that would have been wrong.
Vera won the fight, but lost in the scores.
Shades of Pacquiao-Bradley?
