CARSON -- Karim Mayfiled (18-0-1, 10KO) (above photo) sent Chris Fernandez (21-16-1, 12KO) to the canvas two times en route to an 8th round stoppage of their 10-round welterweight contest at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA Saturday night. Time: 2:59 of round eight.
Daniel Sandoval (33-2-0, 30KO) won via unanimous decision over Richard Gutierrez (26-1-1, 16KO), 8 rounds, middleweight. Scores: 79-73, 79-73 and 80-72 in favor of Sandoval.
Jose Felix Jr (25-0-1, 20 KO) made short work of Joseph Laryea (11-9-0, 10KO) with a first round stoppage at 2:37 of the opening round.
Jose Ramirez (6-0-0, 4KO) UD over Daniel Calzada (8-9-2, 1KO). Scores: 40-36, 40-36, 40-36 in favor of Ramirez.
