A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE

Las Vegas, NV:- A funny thing happened early this afternoon at the weighin for the main event boxers involved in tomorrow?s fight card known as ?The One?.

The fighter alleged to be a master of mind games got a dose of his own medicine.

Floyd Mayweather Jr has been known to play mind games with his opponents. He does it to those who are signed to fight him as well as those who are perceived by his camp as future opponents.

Take for instance when a few years back, Mayweather as a proviso to fight the Filipino ace, Manny Pacquiao, required him to undergo testing for PEDs. With that proviso, he forced Pacquiao into a mind game that was only favorable to Mayweather.

Of course Pacquiao had none of the nonsense proposed by Mayweather, but still it affected his psyche as he was placed in an uncomfortable defensive status.

Then in the fight against Juan Manuel Marquez, Floyd refused to reveal his true weight creating an unfair advantage for him. Marquez ended up being stopped.

This afternoon at the MGM Grand, before a huge crowd of 12,200, Floyd tried to do his old trick on the young Saul Canelo Alvarez by telling the young Mexican champion to hold the WBC belt as they posed for photos.

Alvarez totally ignored Mayweather and refused to be told by Mayweather. Of course the braggart from Michigan and his adviser Ellerbe got livid about the situation.

They just did not expect the young Alvarez who was allegedly forced to come in at 152 lbs for the weigh-in could put one over them.

But he did and the predominantly Mexican crowd who saw Canelo outsmart Mayweather could not be much happier.
