LAS VEGAS -- As the big fight cards draws nearer, the fans get unreal.
And, that?s the whole truth!
As early as 9:00 am, boxing fans of all size and color started lining up just outside the doors going to the arena. They are loud and some are already boozed up. Therefore security has been beefed-up at the MGM.
It?s almost Like a zoo, one fan was overheard to say.
It would be really interesting to find out how they will behave tomorrow at the big fight specially if what is greatly expected does not happen and the underdog comes out a winner.
I went in the media section of the arena hoping to do what photographers normally do in fights at MGM - place a reserved sticker at one of the seats to assure a good spot.
A not so nice young woman came to me and told me in no uncertain way that I can not do that as they were reserving the seats for the photographers of the very large media outlets.
Wow, that never happened before! Besides what?s the big deal - there were plenty of seats to go around.
But then again, there is always a first time and besides folks like me that represent minor media outlets (and foreign at that) don?t really mean much when huge events are happening.
So hopefully, the multitude of boxing fans that normally follow this site would not be too disappointed if yours truly would not be able to come up with good shots of the weigh-in.
But that does not mean that we would not try.
Fans of this site are just outstanding. Therefore, they deserve the best we can get for them.
