AGUELO DRAWS, MEGRINO WINS IN JAPAN

Adones Aguelo of the Flores Boxing gym of Mandaue City fought to a split draw against unbeaten Japanese Ryuto Kyoguchi in a non-title bout held yesterday in Osaka, Japan.

The scores were 77-77 and two judges were divided at 76-77. Aguelo, who has held Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) belts is now 20W-8L-2D, 12 KO's while Kyoguchi stays at 10W-0L-1D, 7 KO's.
Last February, Aguelo won a majority decision in Japan against another previously unbeaten Japanese boxer Sho Arai. The 25 year old Aguelo also won his last fight in Maasin City last may against Gadwin Tubigon by third round knockout.

The 22 year old Kyoguchi beat Filipino Jonel Alibio by unanimous decision last November and won his last bout also by unanimous nod against Thai Petchnamchai Jittigym last March.

In the same fight card, another Pinoy boxer Rey Megri?o scored a unanimous decision victory Japanese Myung Ho Lee. The score cards read 78-73, 77-73 and 76-74 after eight rounds.

Lee (16-4, 5 KO?s) fought here in Cebu last year and lost to Rocky Fuentes by unanimous decision in an OPBF title fight. Megri?o (20-20-3, 17 KOs ) made waves last year by stopping former WBC world flyweight champ Pongsaklek Wonjongkam of Thailand in three rounds.
