Undefeated Harmonito dela Torre will face Richard Olisa on September 6 in a fight card held in Mandaluyong City. Promoter Jim Claude Manangquil informed philboxing that this bout will be for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) junior lightweight title.
Dela Torre (9-0, 5 KO?s), from Gen. Santos City, is only 19 years old and is touted as a prospect to watch. The 31 year old Olisa (23-21-2, 12 Ko?s) is more experienced and will provide a good test for Dela Torre.
Jether Oliva (18W- 1L- 2D, 10 KO?s) will also make an appearance when he fights Richard Garcia for PBF flyweight title. Oliva is known for losing by unanimous decision to Ulises Solis of Mexico in his attempt to win the IBF world light flyweight title. The 26 year old Oliva was inactive in 2012 after that loss but has a one win-one draw record in 2013 against Ronnie Sunido and Lester John Prongco respectively.
The 29 year old Garcia (24-16-1, 6KO?s) has faced world ranked boxers and lost in back to back attempts to win belts in Thailand this year.
Also penned to appear on the card is WBO interim Asia-Pacific jr. welterweight titlist Jay Solmiano against a still to be announced opponent. This card is co-promoted by Ryan Gabriel.
