CEBU CITY ? Tomoki Kameda of Japan, the youngest of the three fighting Kameda brothers, made history here tonight by capturing the WBO bantamweight title after dominating the dethroned Paulus Ambunda of Namibia moments ago at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino. Scores were 118-110, 116-112 and 117-111. Philboxing had it a shutout victory for Kameda.

Tomoki becomes the first Japanese to win a WBO title and also becomes the third Kameda brother to win a world crown, sealing their place in history. Koki Kameda, the eldest, previously crowned as WBC super flyweight king, is the current WBA bantamweight title while the second brother, Daiki, previously held the WBA world flyweight title.

Using his reach, blinding speed and ring intelligence to full advantage, Kameda did not give a chance for the defending champion to get into the groove throughout the night. Kameda picked his shots and scored points with jabs and combinations to the delight of the mostly Japanese crowd, many of whom came all the way from Japan to cheer the popular Kameda fighter.

More to come...
