WBC strawweight champion Xiong Zhao Zhong (20W-4L-1D, 11 KO?s) of China and challenger Denver ?The Excitement? Cuello (33W-4L-6D, 21 KO?s) of the Philippines had a very interesting meeting Thursday during the press conference held at the Hotel Movenpick Dubai.

Promoter Aljoe Jaro updated philboxing regarding the proceedings. Zhong stated that he has trained for three months and he will not disappoint his countrymen; an estimated 200 million are expected to watch the fight in China on live TV and he will not hand over the title belt to Cuello.

Cuello, the mandatory challenger, countered by saying that the world will see who really owns the belt that Zhong ?borrowed?. Jaro said that Cuello reached 112 rounds of sparring before leaving for Dubai.

Cuello will continue his road work and have a final six round sparring session with stablemate Lionel Legada who is fighting on the undercard.

Jaro also said they plan to have an appearance on Club 7, a popular Filipino night club in Dubai. Preparing food will not be a problem because they can cook food themselves or request the many Filipino cooks working in Dubai. Jaro thanked KO Promotions who have treated them very well.

The officials for this bout are supervisor Patrick Cusick of Australia who is based in Thailand, Referee Hector Aful of Panama, judges Roman Denison (Panama), John King (England) and Sergio Izonso (Italy).

Zhong vs Cuello will be on June 28 at the World Trade Centre, Dubai, United Arab Emirates and presented by KO Promotions Dubai.
