CEBU ? Marlon ?The Nightmare? Tapales of Lanao del Norte will face Fredirex Rodriguez of Bukidnon in the main supporting bout for the WBO world bantamweight title fight between champion Paulus Ambunda of Namibia and challenger Tomoki Kameda of Japan on August 1 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

Tapales (22W-2L, 9 KO?s) has bounced back from his majority decision loss to David Sanchez in Mexico to stop Ruben Manakane of Indonesia in four rounds in a fight held in Japan last May. Rodriguez (11W-2L-1D, 8 KO?s) won the WBO Asia-Pacific bantamweight title last August 2012 with a fifth round knockout win over Vincent Palicte in Mandaluyong City.

Kameda is here in Cebu and sparred with Philippine junior bantamweight champion Marco Demecillo last Saturday at the RWS Gym which was witnessed by members of the Cebu boxing media. Tomoki aspires to match the feat of his world champion brothers ? Koki, the WBA bantamweight champion and Daiki, a former WBA flyweight champion. This will be the first world title attempt for Tomoki.
