CEBU CITY - Aaron ?La Hoya? Herrera (25-1, 17 KO?s) of Mexico has arrived for his highly anticipated challenge against WBO International light welterweight titlist Jason ?El Ni?o? Pagara (30-2, 19KO?s) of the ALA Gym. Herrera, together with his trainer Roman Acosta Chan spoke to members of the Cebu Sports media during the customary press conference held today at the Formo Restaurant and Lounge at the Banilad Town Center.

Herrera is fighting out of his home country for the first time but has adapted well to the hot and humid climate of Cebu which is similar to Yucatan where he trained hard for this big break; aside from the International title, Pagara is ranked number four by the WBO.

Through interpreter Mike Lopez, Herrera has confirmed that his fights shown on boxrec.com is his real fight record. He said that he has not fought this year but he doesn?t mind because he took it as an opportunity to prepare longer for this bout.

Herrera said that he has seen videos of Pagara?s fights and that it was nothing to get excited about and he was not impressed. He said that he came to Cebu physically and mentally prepared to fight for twelve rounds and will go for the knockout if it presents itself.

Herrera?s moniker means ?Jewel? and he said they gave him that ring name because of his impressive record.

Last month, Mexican fighter Jose Ramirez stunned Rey Bautista, the top crowd drawer of ALA Promotions, and sent the Boholano into retirement. It made sports headlines here in Cebu but Herrera said that it was not exactly big news in Mexico.

Herrera said that he has power in either hand and he wishes Pagara good luck in their showdown this Saturday at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
