
PINOY PRIDE 19: BAUTISTA AND RAMIREZ MAKE WEIGHT (PHOTOS)

DAVAO CITY ? Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista and Mexico?s Jose ?Negro? Ramirez both made the division limit of 126 lbs during the official weigh-in held today at SM City Davao.
Bautista (34W(25 KO?s)- 2L) will be defending his WBO International featherweight title against Ramirez (24W (15 KO?s)- 3L) who is also gunning for Bautista?s world ranking. The ALA Gym boxer is number 5 in the April 2013 WBO rankings.
The fight will be held at the at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) gymnasium which has a seating capacity of 8,000. The weigh-in was supervised by WBO VP for Asia-Pacific Leon Panoncillo and the Davao officials of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
For the co-main event, Rocky Fuentes (34W(20 KO?s)? 6L-2D) weighed in at 113 lbs while Mexico?s Juan Kantun (20W (15 KO?s)-3L-3D) stepped on the scales at 112 lbs for their ten round non-title contest.
OPBF TITLE BOUT A POTENTIAL SHOW STOPPER
?King? Arthur Villanueva (20W(11KO?s)-0L) made the superflyweight limit of 115 lbs while Marco Demecillo Singwangcha (18W(14 KO?s)-0L-1D) weighed 113 lbs. The two undefeated boxers will engage in an intriguing OPBF title fight. Villanueva is the defending champion and will be risking his title for the first time. The fight is set for twelve rounds.
Nonoy Neri, who is one of the assistant trainers of Manny Pacquiao and Rodel Mayol, will be in Demecillo?s corner. Opposing him are the trainers of the ALA Gym - former world ranked contender Michael Domingo and Edmund Villamor, who was the recipient of the ?best trainer? award during the 13th Flash Elorde Memorial Awards last March.
Rev. Henry Guanzon, who guided Villanueva during the start of his pro career in Bacolod City, spoke to philboxing before the weigh-in and said that he told his boxer not be lured into a brawl and just fight smart from a distance.
Mark Vincent Bernaldez (124.5 lbs) will face his foreign opponent, Indonesian Arief Balder (122.5 lbs), in an eight round non-title match. Blader (17W-9L-1, 6 KO?s) was penned to fight Lorenzo Villanueva of the Braveheart Boxing Stable who suffered a training injury. The 21 year old Bernaldez (9W-0L, 5 KO?s) fought at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel last month and stopped Rolando Omela in two rounds.
Weights for the preliminary bouts: Englebert Moralde (112 lbs) vs Abel Gayhun (112 lbs) - 6 rounds, John Vincent Moralde (116 lbs) vs Juvel Gayhun (114lbs) - 6 rounds, Kim Galon (104 lbs) vs Joselito Tabago (100lbs) - 4 rounds and Glendon Ramos (108lbs) vs Jessie Suacasa (107.5 lbs) - 4 rounds.
Pinoy Pride 19: Mexican Invasion will be held on Saturday and opening bouts start at 6PM. ABS-CBN will telecast the fight on Sunday morning.
