TAPALES VS PE?A IN LILOAN FEB. 23

CEBU - Bantamweight prospect Marlon ?The Nightmare? Tapales (21W-1L, 7 KO?s) will take on Danilo Pe?a in the main event of a fight card set at the Panphil B. Frasco Sports Complex in Liloan, Cebu on February 23.

Last October, Tapales showed that he deserves a place on the big stage when he won by second round knockout over Rasmanudin of Indonesia at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. This fight was on the undercard of PINOY PRIDE XVII. Tapales is also a former Philippine lt.flyweight champion.

Pe?a (26W-15L-2D, 11 KO's) has lost his last three fights in Thailand. He owns a 4th round knockout win over Sonny Boy Jaro in 2007. This is the same Jaro who had a short reign as WBC flyweight champion in 2012. Pe?a is also a former Philippine super flyweight champion, having beaten Marvin Tampus by unanimous decision in 2009. Tapales vs Pe?a is a ten round non-title affair.

Also set to see action are RJ Anoos vs Giovanie Rota (10 rounds) , unbeaten prospect Rajah Renoel Pael (10W-0L-1D, 4 KO's) vs Ryan Bongcawil (10 rounds), Jayson Redondo Singwangcha vs. Elmer Colve (10 rounds), Ardie Boyosi Singwangcha vs Gerald Cortez (8 rounds), Neil John Tabanao Singwangcha vs Jun Ryan Quimbo (6 rounds), Kenny Demecillo Singwangcha vs Bryan Samson (6 rounds), Joey Canoy Singwangcha vs Keith Batolenyo (6 rounds), Belmar Plaza vs Junel Lacar (4 rounds) and Francisco Singwangcha vs Nike June Quinaadman (4 rounds).

This card billed as 'BATTLE OF CHAMPIONS' is promoted by Rex 'Wakee' Salud and Naris Singwangcha of Thailand and sponsored by Liloan Mayor Vincent Franco ?Duke? Frasco and the Liloan municipal government. The fights will be aired on GMA TV.
