CEBU - Bantamweight prospect Marlon ?The Nightmare? Tapales (21W-1L, 7 KO?s) will take on Danilo Pe?a in the main event of a fight card set at the Panphil B. Frasco Sports Complex in Liloan, Cebu on February 23.
Last October, Tapales showed that he deserves a place on the big stage when he won by second round knockout over Rasmanudin of Indonesia at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. This fight was on the undercard of PINOY PRIDE XVII. Tapales is also a former Philippine lt.flyweight champion.
Pe?a (26W-15L-2D, 11 KO's) has lost his last three fights in Thailand. He owns a 4th round knockout win over Sonny Boy Jaro in 2007. Tapales vs Pe?a is a ten round non-title affair.
