MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas:- Top Rank put out the official fight card for the 4th and hopefully the last meeting between the two HOF-bound fighters, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez and PhilBoxing is glad to share it with its readers and fans.
Ernie Sanchez (13-3-0,5KO) of GenSan will open the fireworks versus Coy Evans (10-1-1, 2KO) of Philadelphia, PA at 3:45. The fight is scheduled for 8 rounds.
Dodie Boy Penalosa Jr (9-0-0, 9KO) of Cebu City will follow suit against Jesus Lule Raya (6-4-0, 1KO) of Fort Meyers, Florida. The fight will be for 8 rounds as well.
Then a 4 rounder between Corey Siegwarth (2-1-0, 1KO) and Jose Ramirez (Pro debut) of Avenal, CA follows. To the old hands covering big promotions, this is the clue that dinner is set to be served for the media at Studio A and B of the MGM just off the entrance to the Events Center.
Following that, Patrick Hyland, (27-0-0, 12 KO) of Dublin, Ireland tangles with Javier Fortuna (20-0-1, 15KO) for the WBA Interim Featherweight Title. This starts at 6PM.
San Diego?s pride via Cebu, Mercito Gesta (26-0-1, 14KO) and Miguel Angel (31-3-0, 13KO) of Guadalajara will hit the ring next for a 12 round IBF World Lightweight title fight.
Another Filipino, Michael Farenas (34-3-4, 34KO) will battle Cuban hotshot Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0-0, 16KO) for WBA Interim Super featherweight Title following the Gesta-Vasquez fight.
Then the fight of the night happens.
Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2,38KO) will meet Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39) for the 4th time to end all doubts about the results for the other three fights the two had in the past.
A swing bout may occur if time permits between Alexis Hernandez (2-1-0, 1KO) of Las Vegas vs. Jazzma Hogue (2-3-1,0KO) of Farmington, MA.
