DUMAGUETE CITY - WBO light flyweight world champion Donnie "Ahas' Nietes of the ALA Gym entered the ring with his new pet python and fought Danai Meendaeng of Thailand like a calculating predator. The southpaw Meendaeng tried to move around the ring but Nietes easily cut him off and scored with his left hook and right uppercut.

In the fourth round, Nietes drew blood which trickled from Meendaeng?s nose. In the fifth round, Meendaeng crumbled when Nietes landed hard right and left hooks to the body. Referee Ben Necesario reached the count of ten at 2:46.

Nietes (31W-1L-3D, 17 KO's) was then mobbed by the fans at ringside. This non-title bout served as the main event for the ALA Stars Provincial Tour held at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City. Nietes is scheduled for a title defense early next year.

Jimrex "The Executioner" Jaca (36W-6L-3D, 20 KO's) beat Jaypee Ignacio (8W-15L-2D, 2 KO's) by unanimous decision in a rough and bloody ten rounder. Two headbutts in the third round inflicted a cut on the outer corner of Jaca?s left eyebrow. This cost Ignacio a point.

In the 4th, Ignacio suffered a cut on the right eyelid due to a punch. Jaca piled up the points in the subsequent rounds but Ignacio stayed on his feet until the final bell. The scores 100-91, 100-89 and 98-91. After the fight, Jaca told philboxing that he was amazed that Ignacio survived despite receiving his best punches but he welcomed the fact that he went the distance and test his stamina.

Mark Vincent Bernaldez inflicted a one-sided beating on JR Mendoza in 8 rounds. A point was also deducted from Mendoza due to a head butt in the second round that caused a cut on Bernaldez? left eyebrow. The scorecards read 78-73, 80-73 and 80-71.

Crispin Parba knocked down Lyndon Castillo in the second round and sent Castillo?s mouthpiece flying out of the ring twice. The fight however, went the four round distance and Parba won by scores of 38-37, 39-36 and 39-36.

Steve Ricaborda won by split decision against Jonathan Himongala in 4 rounds, two judges had it 40-37, 39-37 for Ricaborda and one judge had it 39-37 for Himongala, in the first bout of the night, Ian Teves vs Jayvee Galia ended in a majority draw after 4 rounds.
