Hollywood, CA:- Manny Pacquiao came to the Wildcard Gym 10 minutes before his scheduled 3:00 PM training to continue his preparation to the fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. Yesterday (Tuesday, LA Time) was his first sparring day.

Pacquiao showed the results of the training he did in his hometown with his boyhood friend Buboy Fernandez prior to flying to Los Angeles.

He sparred with two boxers picked by Freddie Roach and from all indications, he is in very good shape impressing the few who were allowed in the gym to witness his training.

Although the speed and timing is not all there yet, the power however was evident. In fact, Pacquiao seem to be holding off knowing that its just day one in sparring.

One pundit was all smiles when asked about the sparring. ?It went off with a bang,? was all he said.

Of course there were plenty of things to be ironed out such as what game plan to implement and what other plans need to be mastered as well in case the former doesn?t work as well as expected.

But then again, yesterday was only day one and there are about 6 more weeks come.

Pacquiao?s other routine will essentially remain the same. He will do his flat surface running at the Pan Pacific Park and the uphills at the Griffith Park in Hollywood Hills.
