Denver ?The Excitement? Cuello (31W-4L-6D, 21 KO?s) is set to make his fifth fight inside a Mexican ring this September 22. Promoter Aljoe Jaro informed philboxing that the reigning WBC Silver minimumweight titlist will be facing Ivan Meneses of Puebla, Mexico.

The 25 year old Cuello has a 3W-1L record on Mexican soil. Two years ago he suffered an unfortunate third round disqualification loss to Juan Hernandez after he had Hernandez down in the same round. He returned to Mexico last year and bounced back with stoppage wins against Sebastian Arcos (KO 3) and Carlos Perez (TKO 1). Last May, Cuello stopped Ganigan Lopez in two rounds in a WBC eliminator to officially acquire the top contender status. He continues to wait for his chance for a world title shot.

Meneses (18W-10L-1D, 10 KO?s) won the vacant IBF Latino lt.flyweight title in his last fight against Luis Ceja. He has lost twice to the same Juan Hernandez who by DQ against Cuello. Meneses also has a ten round draw three years ago against Mario Rodriguez, who won the IBF world minimumweight title last weekend.

Cuello, just like his stablemate Sonny Boy Jaro, fights with the name Singwangcha to honor their sponsor, Thai boxing patron Naris Singwangcha.

Aljoe Jaro said that they will leave on September 10 and proceed to Las Vegas to assist in the corner of WBC light middleweight champion Saul Alvarez in his September 15 fight against Josesito Lopez before going to Mexico.
