Montoya's Dad speaks, "Mexicans have Pride also, we want the Pagara brothers, Servania and Jaca for Pinoy Pride XVIII"

In the early morning of 1:00 am in the quiet hillside of Upper Linao, Minglanilla, Cebu Philippines, the landline phone started ringing; I hopped out of my nice warm bed thinking who can this be at this hour. To my amazement it was Magdaleno Montoya (who had once fought former World Champion Paulie Ayala), the soft spoken father of the Montoya brothers calling from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

"Hello, Hola Miguel, es Magdaleno" (Hello Michael, it's Magdaleno), "Hola Senor Montoya, Que Pasa?" (Hello Mr. Montoya, what?s happening?) I was still half asleep and he was saying to me, ?Miguel I have to tell you my plan, I can't sleep always thinking about this,? so I replied, "dime cu?l est? en tu mente Senor?? (What is on your mind sir?), I responded.

?Miguel, I been thinking about my sons fighting in the Philippines. My son Rosbel wanted a third fight with Jason Pagara, but he didn?t get it since Pagara will fight on October 20. He decided he wanted to retire after his terrible loss,? added Magdaleno

The elder Montoya said, ?My son, Daniel Montoya (23-3-14 KO) who is better, faster and stronger than Rosbel wants to save the family name and challenge Jason Pagara. They are both natural Light Welterweight boxers. Daniel is always bothering me to make the fight, so I told him I will try.?

The elder Montoya stated, ?Eduardo (20-2-14 KO) can challenge Genesis Servania, since Servania has beaten many Mexicans lately and twice he was on the undercard of both of the fights of Rosbel, he will finally face someone who will not back down and KNOCK HIM OUT! He fought a good fight against Pazos and I respect his skills, but Eduardo is the real deal,? Montoya added.

The usually soft spoken Montoya also expressed he has a nephew, ?my nephew Ruben ?El Huracan? Montoya with a record of (8-0-5KO) can challenge the younger brother of Jason, [the top ALA prospect] in Albert ?The Prince? Montoya who sports also an unbeaten record of (12-0-9 KO). This would be a fight for, the O has to go."

This conversation was getting juicier and juicier every minute. I just had to ask the next question, ?what about Rosbel, will he stay retired??

?Mida (look) if ALA Boxing wants Rosbel, I will have him ready to fight Jimrex Jaca."

"This is not about money, it?s about Pride. Since this is Pinoy Pride, we also have our Mexican Pride. Money can come and go, but Pride stays with you forever; I told Rosbel to pick up his Cajones and fight again,? The soft spoken father who has a stable of good fighters is ready to come back to Cebu.

I told Mr. Montoya that it would be the greatest boxing card in Pinoy Pride history. Just imagine, having four Montoyas, three (3) Montoya brothers and also an undefeated cousin. With the latest blockbuster ratings with the past fight with Jason Pagara and Rosbel Montoya, the Filipino fans will not want to miss this action, and maybe it will have to be fought in a larger arena. A sold out crowd and standing room only is the only way this event will be. Blood is thicker than water and this will blow the ratings to the next century. I am getting chills just thinking about this blockbuster card.
