In the spirit of bayanihan,Jaro Boxing Promotions International conducted its own relief operations in the town of Binangonan, Rizal yesterday. Relief goods mostly composed of rice, canned goods and used clothing were distributed to the flood victims of Binangonan, Rizal. The team headed by boxing Promoter/Manager Aljoe Jaro gave the relief goods to over 200 families at the Tayuman Elementary School which served as evacuation center.
"God has been good to our Promotions, it is time to give back to our brothers and sisters in Binangonan. They deserve the help. They cannot go back to their homes until after two months or more. The water which has reached their houses are part of Laguna de Bay. It is not simple rain water but form part of the actual lake water. Hence, they have to wait until the Lake water level subsides. We are not doing this to attract publicity. We want to let other people know that they too can help. While other flood victims can go back to their normal lives after a few days, these families have to wait for months. Children are getting sick. We need more medicines, food and clothes. I am calling out my fellow promoters who can help in anyway to please contact me and we can do another round of relief operations", Jaro told Philboxing.com.
Aljoe Jaro, was accompanied by his wife Alice, Fil-Am Trainer Carlos Vasquez, WBC Silver Straw Weight Champ Denver Cuello-Singwangcha, former WBC and Ring Magazine Flyweight Champion Sonny Boy Jaro-Singwangcha and the boxers of Jaro Stable.
