
DEMECILLO VS. CERNA IN COMPOSTELA

CEBU- RWS Promotions informed philboxing that Marco Demecillo Singwangcha will get a new opponent for their July 22 fight card in the municipality of Compostela. He will face Jeffrey Cerna instead of the previously reported Jetro Pabustan.
Cerna (15W-5L, 5 KO's) lost in his last fight to Arthur Villanueva by split decision on the undercard of the WBO lt.flyweight title bout between Donnie Nietes and Mexico?s Felipe Salguero held last June 2 in Manila.
Demecillo (16W-0L-1D, 12KO's) is the reigning Philippine superflyweight champion. Last April 22 in Mactan, Demecillo survived a first round knockdown to dethrone Marvin Mabait by TKO in the third round. Demecillo is one of the boxers sponsored by Thai boxing patron Naris Singwangcha.
Demecillo and Cerna have two recent common opponents: Louie Bantigue lost by split decision to Cerna in a WBO Oriental title bout last year held in Quezon City but was stopped by Demecillo in nine rounds in Lilo-an,Cebu. Rex Olisa lost by UD to Cerna two years ago in Laguna and he lost by UD to Demecillo in Tuburan,Cebu last year.
Also penned to fight in Compostela are Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight title holder Adonis "TI Yamagata" Aguelo of Mandaue City will vie for the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) interim featherweight belt against Jerry Nardo (14W-1L, 7 KO's) of Bacolod City, Jason Redondo Singwangcha of the RWS Gym and Eman Labanza of the Phil-Aust gym of Mandaue City will fight for the PBF superfeatherweight belt for ten rounds, Gerpaul ?TI Yamagata? Valero vs. Romnick Magos (RWS Gym) 10 rounds, Buhay Boksingero flyweight and PBF titlist Rajah Renoel Pael (TI Cebu) vs Louie Arlos in an eight round non-title contest, Ardie 'TI Yamagata' Boyose vs Arnel Caoktoy (6 rounds), TI Yamagata ?Dodong? Masashi of Japan vs. Jonathan Francisco (6 rounds), Kenny Demecillo of the RWS gym vs Alvin Arresgado (4 rounds), Jun Ryan Quimbo vs Bryan Samson (4 rounds), Jayvee Galea vs Roel Sumabong (4 rounds) and RJ Gonzales vs Lloyd Hardeliza (4 rounds).
This boxing promotion is held with the cooperation of the local government of Compostela lead by Mayor Joel Quino and will be held at the Compostela Gym.
