WRITER?S NOTE:
I?m not an avid follower of mixed martial arts and this was only the second MMA card that I witnessed live in Cebu. My home island has long been a boxing hotbed in the Philippines but MMA fight cards have generated their own rabid audience.
Just like the Filipino boxers, most of the Pinoy MMA fighters are in the lighter weight categories. But just like their boxing counterparts, they move faster and have a greater punch and kick
output.
