The Philippines' veteran fighter Juanito Rubillar (48-18-7, 23 KO) coming in as a last minute replacement, will go against Puerto Rican David Quijano (14-2-1 9 KO) for the vacant WBO Latino Super Flyweight Title June 15 at the Civic Center in Kissimmee Florida.
The original opponent for Quijano was Raul Hidalgo of Mexico who had fought AJ Banal this past March 24 in Cebu Philippines and had came back from that loss with a knockout over Arnoldo Orozco with a 5th round KO this past month. A broken hand by Hidalgo in training camp these past days forced him to back out of this title fight.
The 35 year old Rubillar is on a 5 fight losing streak and has won 2 of his last 10 fights. Rubillar had fought on eight occasions for the world title, but always came up short. This could be a turning point in his career with a victory that can place him in the top 15 of the WBO and maybe another shot at the world title.
