The Pe?alosa brothers, Dodie Boy Jr. and Dave, had an afternoon workout in front of the Cebu sports media today to promote the ?Dugong Kampeon? fight card this April 21 Saturday at the Mandaue City Sports Complex.
Watching intently was Alex Buckie of Indonesia, who arrived in Cebu this morning with his trainer. Buckie will face Dodie,Jr in a ten round non-title bout. He was interviewed by sportswriters and said he has a good chance against the unbeaten Pe?alosa.
Buckie and his trainer also met former two division world champion Diosdado ?Dodie Boy? Pe?alosa, Sr. The elder Pe?alosa is the chief trainer of his son but was in a very friendly mood when he spoke with the Indonesian camp.
Buckie fought for the Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) bantamweight title in his last fight but lost a unanimous decision to Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat of Thailand.
Promoter and former two division world champion Gerry Pe?alosa informed philboxing that Dodie,Jr will fight in Las Vegas on the undercard of Pacquiao vs Bradley this June in an eight rounder against a still to be named opponent. If he wins, Gerry plans to have his nephew fight for a WBO Youth title in September.

Michael Farenas works out.
Philippine featherweight champion Michael Fare?as will face former WBO Asia-Pacific titlist Jayson Egera of Siaton in a ten round non-title bout. Gerry Pe?alosa plans to match Fare?as either against Daniel Ponce de Leon or WBO superfeatherweight champion Adrien Broner.
Both Fare?as and Egera were also working out at the CCSC Gym.
Dave Pe?alosa will face Jomar Torreon in a four rounder for his third pro fight. He also fought in Caloocan last January and scored a second round TKO win over Rey Colambot.
Another interesting match-up in the undercard involves Buhay Boksingero lt.flyweight division winner Joebert Alvarez against Renren Ruiz. Alvarez said he has fought four times since winning the Buhay Boksingero finals in Bohol but his record has yet to be updated in boxrec.
GerryPens Promotions also announced that they will have a courtesy call at the Mandaue City Hall on Thursday 11 AM.
