Cebu ? The double main event featuring Marvin Sonsona vs Carlos Fulgencio of the Dominican Republic and the WBO world youth flyweight title fight between Froilan Saludar vs Alejandro Morales of Mexico are sufficient reasons for fight fans to troop to the Lapu-lapu City Hoops Dome this March 17.

But SGG Promotions revealed yesterday a smashing undercard line-up to provide added motivation for the discriminating Cebuano audience.

Unbeaten Adonis ?The Undertaker? Cabalquinto (10W-0L, 8 KO?s) will face hard hitting former PABA Lt.welterweight titlist Dan Nazareno (16W-7L, 12 KO?s) for the vacant Philippine jr.welterweight title.

The WBO Asia-Pacific Youth superflyweight title will be at stake when undefeated Jerwin Ancajas (13W-0L-1D, 5 KO?s) squares off against another excellent prospect Mark Anthony Geraldo (22W-4L-3D, 10 KO?s).

Last year, Geraldo suffered career setbacks against Arthur Villanueva and Oleydong Stihsamerchai but has bounced back with points wins against Jilo Merlin and Frederix Rodriguez.
Ancajas won the title last year by unanimous decision against Rex Tito in Batangas. He also had an overseas outing, beating Xiang Jing by unanimous decision in China.

Also scheduled to make his second appearance as a pro is Jack ?The Golden Boy? Tepora, who will face Michael Dopol in a four rounder. Tepora is a former ABAP National amateur boxing gold medallist and national team member. He was one of the recipients of a citation during the Cebu Sportswriters Awards last March 3. One day later, he made his professional debut and won by TKO against John Edu Torbiso.

The headliner, Marvin Sonsona, joined the Omega Boxing Gym boxers who had a public workout yesterday to open the presentation of Johnriel Casimero?s IBF title belt brought in by International matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz.

Sonsona told this writer that despite interruptions in his training schedule ? he had to go home because their house burned down ? he is nearing his fighting weight and peak form.

Lewkowicz also hinted that if Sonsona continues winning, he could be matched against an Argentinian fighter.

Rounding up the undercards are Edward Penerio vs. Albert Alcoy (10 rounds), Virgilio Silvano vs Jar R Calunsad (8 rounds), Ernie Sanchez vs Eman Labanza (8 rounds), and Jordan Catubay vs Jerome Baja (4 rounds).

Tickets are priced at 50 pesos for Gen. Admission, 100 ? upper box, 150 - lower box and 200 pesos for ringside. The inaugural staging of PINOY KNOCKOUT will be aired on AKTV and is presented by Sampson Boxing LLC and SGG Promotions.
