Cebu City ? Juan ?Panterita? Esquer (27W-9L-2D, 21 KO?s) of Mexico demonstrated good hand speed when he shadow boxed in front of an admiring crowd who gathered at the Event Centre of SM City Cebu. Esquer is set to trade blows with unbeaten Milan ?Metodico? Melindo (25W-0L, 9 KO?s) of Cagayan de Oro this Saturday for the WBO Intercontinental flyweight title.

Joining Esquer on stage were his countryman Diego ?Tyson? Ledesma and Indonesian Sofyan ?The Cobra? Effendi.

Ledesma (18W-4L-2D, 12 KO?s) also shadow boxed on stage and looked confident going into his potentially explosive match-up against knockout artist Lorenzo ?Thunderbolt? Villanueva (21W-0L-1NC, 20 KO?s), of North Cotabato.

Villanueva, who holds the WBO Oriental featherweight title, will be facing his toughest test and his first Mexican opponent.

Effendi (11W-11L-2D, 9 KO?s) is the reigning Indonesian minimumweight champion. He will fight OPBF minimumweight champion Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo of Bacolod City in a non-title bout. Effendi also shadow boxed on stage and joined the Mexican boxers in posing for photos with the Cebuano boxing fans.

Free tickets were also given during the Q and A portion. The eleventh edition of Pinoy Pride billed as Philippines vs the World will also feature South Korean Yoo Shin Kim vs. Joseph Von Minoza of Cebu City and Thailand?s Kaichon Sor Vorapin vs. Mhar Jhun Macahilig of Aklan.

The fights will be held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. The official weigh-in will be on Friday noon also at SM Cebu.
