BAUTISTA AND MENDOZA MAKE WEIGHT FOR HOOPS DOME BATTLE

Mandaue City ? Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista (31W-2L, 23 KO's) of the ALA Gym and Miguel Angel Mendoza (17W-0L-1D, 17 KO's) of Mexico both made the featherweight limit of 126 lbs during the official weigh-in held Friday noon in front of an appreciative crowd at the Pacific Mall. Their fight for the IBF International featherweight title will headline PINOY PRIDE X this Saturday at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-lapu City.

Somebody's ?O? must go in the supporting ten round main event. Marcos ?Geraldito? Cardenas (12W-0L-1D, 9 KO's) of Mexico tipped the scales at 122 lbs while Genesis ?Asukal? Servania (15W-0L, 5 KO's) of the ALA gym weighed 122 ? lbs.

Rocky Fuentes (113 lbs), the OPBF Flyweight champion, will fight former WBC Silver lt.flyweight champion Lookdiaw Tor Buamas (111 lbs) of Thailand in a non-title bout set at a catchweight of 114 lbs. Romeo Jakosalem of Tagbilaran City, Bohol will vie for the vacant OPBF junior welterweight crown against South Korean Pan Soo Kim. Jakosalem weighed 138 ? lbs while Kim stepped in at 139 ? lbs.

Fans who flocked to the Pacific Mall got an added treat as free tickets were given during the Q nad A portion after the weigh-in. Tickets for this fight are almost sold out.

There will be five pairs of preliminary bouts. Roma Rate (107 lbs) vs Randy Gomez (109 lbs) - 6 rounds, Mark Acub (130 ? lbs) vs Ryan Maano (130 lbs) - 6 rounds, Mark Vincent Bernaldez (122 lbs) vs Ruben Baldoz (119 lbs) - 4 rounds, Ralph Lulu (125 ? lbs) vs Rodel Wenceslao (126 lbs) - 6 rounds and Arjan Canillas (126 lbs) vs Johnjier Torbiso (125 lbs) - 4 rounds. The weigh-in was supervised by Rolando Mendoza and Glenn Agena of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB). Fight time is at 6 PM.
