The bout between a distinguished lower weight fighter, Z Gorres of the Philippines and a veteran from Columbia, South America, Pedro Rincon Miranda is all but said and done. At the weight-in today held at the Double Tree Hotel located in downtown City of Carson, California , under the auspices of the Golden Boy Promotions of Oscar de la Hoya, both fighters made the weight limitation just fine.

Z Gorres (23-1-1 12KO) the pride of Mandaue, Cebu and the new OPBF Super Flyweight Champion, came in at a sizzling 115 1/2 lbs. His opponent, Pedro Rincon Miranda (30-10-2 23KO) a 31-year old from Cartagena, Bolivar, Columbia, came in at 115 3/4 lbs. Miranda is a substitute of Jose Laureano, (18-9-1 8KO) of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico who could not make the match.

Miranda wants to do better than his last outing on March 19, 2006 where he lost via a unanimous decision to a compatriot from Montero, Columbia, Mauricio Pastrana (31-6-2) at Palm Beach, Florida. Gorres on the other hand, is set to improved his record to 24 wins against a lost and a draw. On his last stint, Gorres won over Waenpeth Chuwatana via 12 round UD to capture the vacant OPBF Super-flyweight title in Mandaue, Cebu.
