Manny Pacquiao's business associate Rex "Wakee" Salud and Filipino trainer Buboy Fernandez are set to leave for Los Angeles tonight to join the pound for pound superstar as he prepares for his July 2 showdown with Mexican star Oscar 'Chololo' Larios at the Araneta Coliseum.
Salud and Fernandez were scheduled to leave earlier, but had to delay their trip as they accompanied Jimrex Jaca in his bid to win the OPBF super-featherweight title in Japan last May 20, where he lost via unanimous decision.
"I had asked permission from Coach Freddie (Roach) that I'd be delayed by a few days due to my commitment to Wakee to help out Jimrex, and Coach Freddie understood perfectly my situation saying it was a good break for me," said Fernandez, who has lately acquired tremendous improvement in his craft due to his exposure with Roach's style.
Pacquiao is currently in Los Angeles, training daily at Roach's Wild Card Gym, as he prepares for his duel with the taller Larios, which is dubbed 'Mano-A-Mano' by giant network ABS-CBN.
"We will most likely join Pacquiao when he comes back to taper off in his preparation at the Camp John Hay in Baguio," added Fernandez.
