ALA Boy Rey `Boom Boom` Bautista, the sensational fighter from Bohol, sees action today against Nicaraguan Roberto Bonilla in the undercard of the Marco Antonio Barrera-Rocky Juarez championship bout at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The bout will be aired starting at 10AM today, simulcast over Solar Sports and RPN-9.

If victorious, Bautista has been assured of a slot in the undercard of Oscar De la Hoya`s farewell fight, possibly in September, possibly against undefeated pound-for-pound topnotcher Floyd Mayweather in what will arguably be the biggest match-up in the history of boxing.

At a press conference held the other day by Golden Boy Promotion and Pex Aves for the Filipino press at Max Restaurant, it was announced that the Golden Boy Promotions had given Bautista a 5,000-dollar bonus, in addition to his 10,000-dollar purse, owing to his performance at the presscon and good ticket sales.

Bautista was then brought to the GBP office, where he was introduced to its CEO Richard Schaefer.

The Bautista-Bonilla showdown takes place just before the chief supporting bout featuring WBO super-featherweight champ Jorge Barrios defending his title against Hungarian Janos Nagy.

Bautista (19-0, 14 KO`s), the 19-year-old prodigy from Candijay, Bohol, will be staking his reputation against the 31-year-old Bonilla (22-7, 13 KO`s) in a 10-round bout.

In the main event, Barrera, who is calling out Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao for a grudge rematch, defends his WBC super-featherweight title against Rocky Juarez, a dangerous opponent who has the tools to cause a major upset.
