LOS ANGELES -- Lost in the media attention that currently focuses on the huge fights involving the two best Filipino fighters, Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire, Jr is the coming fight card scheduled at the San Manuel Casino Resort just an hour east of Los Angeles on Oct. 27.

Top Rank Promotions in association with the Manny Pacquiao Promotions is presenting a big fight card headlined by three Filipino hopefuls, Bernabe Concepcion, Rodel Mayol and Richi Mepranum.

Today just prior to Manny Pacquiao?s training at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood; the three Filipino hopefuls were seen doing their thing and getting ready for their fights on October 27th.

The fight is on a Thursday and being a work day, the promoters will be hard pressed to bring the crowd in. One thing that works in their favor is the fact that San Manuel is almost a second home for hundreds of Filipino ?fortune hunters? who populate the rows of slot machines, the card tables and the bingo parlor at that very popular resort casino almost on a daily basis.

Chances are majority of them will be at the fight cheering the Filipino boxers particularly if Manny Pacquiao himself suddenly appears amongst the crowd.

?Manny is in deep training so we are not too sure if he can make it to San Manuel, but knowing how he loves to support the upcoming Filipino boxers, there is no telling if he decides to take that hour drive and show his support,? a Team Pacquiao member said.

Bernabe Concepcion will be fighting the fight of his life. The memory of his back to back losses to Juan Ma Lopez and Juan Carlos Martinez will be vividly remembered if he loses for the third time. Therefore, Abe is expected to give it all against Aaron Garcia. Their fight is for the Continental Americas Featherweight title.

Rodel Mayol on the other hand will try to stretch his winning ways to four in a row since his sad lose to Omar Nino Romero in their WBC 108 lb title fight in Mexico last year.

Mayol is slated to face an old veteran, 33 year old Luis Maldonado of Baja California. Maldonado is the same fellow that was knocked out in the 8th round by Nonito Donaire Jr sometime ago at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut which this writer personally witnessed.

Richi Mepranum will be try to get his third win since losing to Julio Cesar Miranda in his attempt to win the WBO 112 lb title. He will be locking horns with Rigoberto Casillas of Mexico.
