Rommel Asenjo.
Bacolod City ? Rommel ?Little Assassin? Asenjo pounced on Arnel Tadena and pounded him with hard hooks to the body and head from the opening bell. The southpaw Asenjo, a former WBO Oriental champion, pressed his advantage in the succeeding rounds as Tadena went into defensive mode and offered little in retaliation.
Tadena? corner signalled that their fighter had received enough punishment and capitulated before the start of the 6th round. This was Asenjo?s first fight since losing in his bid to win the WBO world minimumweight title against Raul Garcia of Mexico last April.
Gil Melligen beat Rufino Mante by unanimous decision after ten rounds. Melligen landed the more telling blows but had a point deduction in round two for an accidental head butt that caused a cut on Mante?s right eyebrow. Melligen then had another deduction in the sixth round for low blows.
The scorecards read 97-91, 95-93 and 98-90.
Wilbeth Loberanis outboxed Roger Echavez and won by unanimous decision after eight rounds. The judges? scores for Loberanis were 79-73, 78-74 and 78-74.
Rey Melligen knocked out Tata Ramuga in the third round. Melligen utilized a vicious body attack and scored two knockdowns in the second. But an accidental head butt that inflicted a cut on Ramuga?s right eyebrow cost Melligen a point.
Melligen sent Ramuga down again in the third and Referee Danrex Tapdasan counted him out at the 2:57 mark.
Rocky Bacor won by unanimous decision over Jonathan Ricablanca in an eight rounder. The scores: 78-74, 79-73 and 77-75.

Among the faces in the crowd were Z Gorres, Rey Bautista, Milan Melindo, Genesis Servania and Arthur Villanueva.
Melindo thinks that the WBO lt.flyweight title bout between champion Ramon Garcia Hirales of Mexico and challenger Donnie Nietes of Murcia, Negros Occidental will end in a knockout. Gorres thinks it will be a difficult fight that will go the distance.
