CEBU'S GM BITOON IN SSS SIMUL CHESS

PHILIPPINE newest Grandmaster Richard Bitoon flashed his deadly old form for a magnificent performance in a rare simultaneous chess exhibition held Friday at the start of 2011 SSS Inter Group 24 boards Simultaneous Chess Exhibition at the SSS Canteen, 2nd Floor SSS, East Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.

The former Southwestern University bet who hails from Medellin, Cebu played over 24 boards tallied 17 wins , 2 loses and 5 draws for a 81.25 percent performance. The selected players were the top players from SSS Chess Club.

Ex-Olympian Woman National Master Shercila Cua and Rey Valencerina beat GM Bitoon while Emerito Perez, Christopher Prado, Dennis Remit, Rene Morados and reigning two-time SSS champion Robert Gene Mariano salvaged a draw.
