Cebu City - Rex "Wakee" Salud Promotions will showcase two of their most promising boxers this October 9 in a fight card billed as LABAN NG LAHI: THE YOUNG PROSPECTS. In the main event, Marlon Tapales (18W-1L, 6 KO?s) of Lanao del Norte will face Martin "Mobile Martin" Mubiru (8W-2L, 5 KO's) of Uganda in a ten round non-title bout.

The 19 year old Tapales, is coming off twin victories against foreign opponents. Last May, he beat Alejandro Solorio of California by majority decision after six rounds in a fight held at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He then beat Yodpichai Sithsaithong of Thailand by knockout in the fourth round in a fight held in his hometown of Tubod.

The 26 year old Mubiru owns an 8th round TKO win against Big Yoo of South Korea. Filipino boxing fans remember Yoo for going toe to toe with AJ Banal in Bohol last July 17, 2010 before succumbing to a hard one-two combo in the 5th round. Mubiru, who now fights in Japan and ranked by the JBC, has never been stopped. He lost to Filipino Danilo Pena by split decision in his last bout.

Unbeaten Marco Demecillo Singwangcha (14W-0L-1D, 10 KO's) will challenge Rey Perez (12W-1L, 2 KO's) for the Philippine superflyweight title. The 21 year old Singwangcha has scored abbreviated wins against four of his last five opponents this year. He is coming off a second round demolition of tough veteran Nelson Llanos in Sibonga, Cebu last August.

The 21 year old Perez, known as the Sindangan Technician, won the R.P. title last May by split decision against Danilo Pena in Laguna. His only loss was to a former world champion, Nobuo Nashiro, in Osaka, Japan last July.

Also penned to see action are RJ Anoos vs Joan de Guia (10 rounds 130 lbs), Sandoval Singwangcha vs Gerry Tumogdan (8 rounds 105 lbs), Redondo Singwangcha vs Honey Boy Vidad (6 rounds 126 lbs), and Llanera Singwangcha vs Joel Soterol (4 rounds 130 lbs).Buhay Boksingero winners Bobby "Rajah Rov" Sentillas, Jherpaul Valero and Rajah Renoel Pael are also scheduled to fight.

RWS matchmaker Willie Flores informed philboxing that they have not yet made a final decision on the fight venue but they will stage the promotion here in Cebu.
