Cebu City ? With his reopened cut completely healed, Dodie Boy Pe?alosa,Jr promised boxing fans a good performance this Saturday when he faces his first foreign opponent, Kong Kiatpracha Gym of Thailand.

?This will be better than my last fight,? Dodie,Jr said. ?The cut I got in my last fight was reopened during sparring but now it is closed completely. I'm ready to fight.?

Last June, Pe?alosa,Jr stopped Jeffrey Jimenez in four rounds at the Cebu Coliseum. This was the first time in his career that he went past the second round. He suffered a cut on his left eyebrow due to a headbutt in the opening round.

?I was bothered by the cut. But my father, who was in my corner calmed me down. He told me not to think of the cut and not to let it affect our game plan.?

The unbeaten Pe?alosa,Jr (5W, 5 KO's) has been given the opportunity to fight in the Pacquiao-Marquez undercard, ?It's a big honor to fight in the undercard of Pacquiao-Marquez. It has added some pressure because I need to give a good performance on Saturday.?

His father, former two-time world champ Diosdado 'Dodie Boy' Pe?alosa added that he would like his son to train with Team Pacquiao when preparations for the Juan Manuel Marquez bout starts.

?He should give a good performance on Saturday,? Dodie,Sr said, ?I would be embarrased to approach Manny if my son gave a bad performance. We have not seen the fight tapes of the Thai. But we are ready for anything. I tried to train my son how to run, use lateral movement but he has a slugger's instincts. He does not want to run. I punish him during training because I don't want to him punished by his opponent inside the ring. I want him to have the advantage always.?

Dodie,Jr also said that he will work hard to be a world champion. ?The best advice I got from my father is to be brave and give it your all inside the ring. From my uncle Gerry, he told me I should be a thinking fighter. It is not just all strength inside the ring. It is not just my father and uncle who influenced my fighting style. I studied many boxers and styles.?

His uncle and the fight promoter, former two-time champ Gerry Pe?alosa siad that Dodie,Jr may go for a regional belt by next year.

Also slated to see action are former WBC lt.flyweight champ Rodel Mayol, who will face Jayson Rotoni and Jimrex 'The Executioner' Jaca who will fight Philip Jun Demecillo, Eden Sonsona vs Eman Labanza and PABA Jr.flyweight titlist Randy Petalcurin vs Michael Rodriguez.

Mayol and Jaca thanked the media, GMA TV network and GerryPens Promotions for the chance to fight in their latest promotion.

Mayol is aiming to fight in the Pacquiao-Marquez undercard and also train with Team Pacquiao. His dream fight is still to challenge WBA flyweight champ Hernan Marquez. There are four more undercard matches scheduled.

Fight time at the Mandaue City Sports Complex is at 6PM Saturday. Weigh-in will be on Friday. Kiatpracha is due to arrive in Cebu Thursday afternoon. Ticket prices ? 100 pesos bleachers section, 200 php lower box and 400 ring side.
