Johnriel Casimero (14W-2L, 8 K0?s) of the Omega boxing gym of Cebu will get another world title shot in Zambia, Africa against hometown boy Kennedy Kanyata (11W-0L, 9 KO?s). This bout for the vacant International Boxing Organization (IBO) flyweight title will be held at the Mulungushi Conference Centre in Lusaka on August 20.

Promoter Sammy Gello-ani has confirmed this match-up.

The unbeaten Kanyata has a high knockout percentage but has fought outside of his home country only once as a pro,in Kenya. But as an amateur, during the Commonwealth Games 2002 in Manchester, England, Kanyata won gold for Zambia in the Men?s Flyweight Division.

He has previously held the African Union bantamweight and IBO Intercontinental superflyweight titles.

Casimero, who hails from Ormoc City, is a former WBO interim jr.flyweight champion but lost his title to Ramon Garcia Hirales of Mexico by split decision last year. Hirales will be in the Philippines this September to defend his world title against Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes.

Casimero also lost his next fight by 5th round TKO in his attempt to win the IBF flyweight title against Moruti Mthalane of South Africa last March 26, 2011. More important than the IBO belt, the outcome of this fight will determine the course of Casimero?s career.
