?El Matador? Villanueva in Nietes?Garcia undercard

Reigning Philippine flyweight champion and Top Prime Stable?s Arthur ?El Matador? Villanueva will get another break in his professional boxing career as he goes up in the undercard match of the Donnie Nietes-Ramon Garcia title fight this August here in Bacolod.

Top Prime Stable?s manager rev. Henry Guanzon yesterday said that the 22-year-old Villanueva has started his rigid training for the upcoming fight. However, Guanzon has yet to disclose who will be Villanueva?s opponent.

Last June 25, Villanueva stopped Rosel Alim in the round 6 of the scheduled 10 rounds of brawl held in Calape Cultural Center in Calape, Bohol. The win of ?El Matador? kept his clean record of 17 victories including 12 KOs.

According to Guanzon, Villanueva?s recent fight in Bohol is part of his preparation in the upcoming August battle.

Meanwhile, in the Donnie Nietes-Armando Vazquez fight held last April 9, 2011 at the University of St. La Salle, Villanueva won over Mark Anthony Geraldo in a majority technical decision after an incidental head butt in the 6th round.

On the hand, ALA promotions media officer Chad Ca?eres yesterday said that they be coming over to Bacolod sometime next week to work on the upcoming Nietes- Garcia fight.

This will be Nietes? second fight this year in his hometown.

He has been awarded a shot at the World Boxing Organization (WBO) light flyweight (108 lb) crown after deciding to relinquish the WBO minimum weight (105 lb) title a few months back.

Nietes has fought thrice on Mexican soil and incredibly won all three, breaking the hearts of those who saw him fight in the cities of Guasave, Nayarit and Oaxaca.
