Cebu City ? The cast of the PINOY PRIDE 6: Grudge Rematch fight card held their final press conference Thursday noon at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Both Heriberto 'Cuate' Ruiz of Mexico and Rey 'BoomBoom' Bautista were confident of their chances of winning the IBF International featherweight title.

?I trained for three weeks for our first fight,? Ruiz said, ?Now, I trained for three months. I came here to win. Bautista has improved but he has to prove it. You'll see on top of the ring the kind of preparation I made.?

?If he is ready, I am more ready.? Bautista countered, ?I am not emotional about this fight. I lost to him before but I am not dwelling on vengeance. It will not affect my mindset inside the ring. There is no pressure, I am ready.?

But Bautista said that his loss to Ruiz was painful. ?I couldn't do anything because my hand hurt. It is difficult to fight with pain in your hand. I will never forget that loss. But I am now more mature and I can fight better.?

Their first fight was held last November 2008 in Las Vegas. Bautista has since undergone surgery on his left wrist and stopped all of his opponents.

Ruiz added, ?I respect Bautista, but I did not hit him in the hand when I knocked him down. His style is difficult but it doesn't matter.?

Fernando Dominguez, Ruiz' manager said, ?It was a big victory for us. Bautista is known in Los Mochis. Ruiz is experienced and styles and adjustments done by Bautista will not matter.?

Dominguez also said he felt really at home as the Cebu fans would recognize Ruiz when they walk aorund the malls of Cebu and some Filipino fans even tell him to beat Boom Boom.

Ruiz' father, Heriberto,Sr said it is hard to train his sons. ?It is difficult to watch your sons fight, but it is my job as a trainer.?

Jason Pagara will face Juan Carlos Gallegos of Mexico in the undercard. Pagara said he did not change his regimen in preparation for a Mexican warrior. ?I just worked on my straight punch because I have been knocking out guys with my hook. I can knock Gallegos out anytime.?

Gallegos countered that he is not an easy person to knock out. He said his power is his best asset. Gallegos went to the boxing gym inside the Abellana National High School in this city and impressed former two division world champ Dodie Penalosa, who trains boxers in that gym.

Interpreter Michael Lopez said that Penalosa is looking forward to the Pagara-Gallegos match. ?Penalosa said Gallegos has a good style, good form and can give Pagara a good fight.? Lopez said.

IBF fight supervisor Ray Wheatley said that fans should expect a great fight from Ruiz and Bautista. ?This will be an even battle. I've seen Ruiz fight in Australia against Jackson Asiku. It was one of the best fights in Australia that year.?

Edrin Dapudong and opponent Benja Loemoli of Indonesia also stated their readiness for this Saturday's fight card. There will be five more supporting matches and fight time is at 6PM at the Waterfront Hotel Pacific Ballroom.

The official weigh-in will be this Friday noon at SM Cebu Events Centre.
