Jetly Purisima got back at Lionel Legada Singwangcha in their rematch for the PBF light flyweight title last Saturday in Maigo, Lanao del Norte. The fight was stopped before the sixth round bell as Legada was bleeding profusely from the mouth with a broken tooth. Promoter Aljoe Jaro informed philboxing that he went to Legada's corner and said that the fight should be stopped. Legada wanted to go on but Jaro was concerned about his fighter's safety. Jaro said that it was still an exciting and competitive bout just like their first fight last March in Angono, Rizal.
Gabejan E.Singwangcha of Manila retained his Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight title against erstwhile unbeaten prospect Ernie Sanchez of Gensan by unanimous decision. Sonny Boy Singwangcha Jaro beat Henry Acha of Zamboanga City by first round KO and Jomar Fajardo Singwangcha won by unanimous decision over Jong Ponteras.
The fights were held at the jam packed Maigo MSAT College Gym in cooperation with the local government of Maigo lead by Mayor Rafael 'Paeng' Rizalda. In attendance were promoters Aljoe Jaro and Naris Singwangcha of Thailand as well as Jaro's star boxer, WBC international minimumweight champion Denver 'The Excitement' Cuello. Aljoe Jaro said Mayor Rizalda plans to host more fight cards in his municipality to develop the sport and scout for potential champions.
