Sta. Ines, CA:- Two former world champions met Friday night at the Chumash Casino Resort in an effort to revive their derailed career. The fight was shown live on ESPN Friday Night Fights.

Kendall Hall (27-4-0, 15KO) the former WBO world junior welterweight champion from Patterson, New Jersey and Julio Diaz (38-7-0-27KO) the former IBF lightweight champion from Cochella Valley, CA tangled in the main event of a 10 fight card promotions of Gary Shaw and Thompson Promotions.

Diaz suffered a large cut on his left eye-brow late in the first round due to a head butt. However, the ring doctor determined that it was not serious enough to be a detriment to the sight of Diaz and allowed the fight to continue.

Late in the third round, Holt scored a perfect left counter hook to the jaw of Diaz dropping him on his back. Diaz stood up before the count of 8 is over but it was obvious that he was no longer in shape to continue the fight. Referee Marcos Rosales therefore waived off the fight and declared Holt a winner by TKO at 2:37 of round 3.

In the undercard fight, undefeated junior middle weight contender, Jonathan Gonzales (13-0-0, 13KO) of Puerto Rico scored a sensational TKO at 1:50 of the seventh round over a very tough Rudy Cisneros ( 12-3-0,11KO) of Chicago, Illinois. The fight was a brawl from the get go until Gonzales trapped Cisneros in round 7 in a neutral corner and pummeled him with combinations that Gonzales failed to return thus prompting his corner to throw in the towel and allowing referee Ray Corona to stop the bout.

Light welterweight Jhon Ortega (5-0-0,5KO) of Londonderry, New Hampshire scored a TKO over Marcus Thompkins (5-3-1) of Michigan City, Indiana. Referee Ray Corona waived off the fight at 0:27 seconds of round 4.
