LAS VEGAS -- A very testy Bob Arum today at the MGM presscon for Saturday?s undercard fighters and those who are booked to fight Friday night at the Mandalay Bay straight out told a room full of media people that he has always stuck to the old ways of putting fights together.

Obviously referring to his ongoing feud with Golden Boy Promotions who signed Nonito Donaire Jr knowing that he is still tied up with Arum, the grand old man of boxing said:-?we don?t steal fighters, we do a co-promotion with his promoters.?

The Donaire incident was the second time Golden Boy Promotions was involved with a 'stealing' issue with Bob Arum's Top Rank. The first one was with Manny Pacquiao. A legal proceedings connected to Pacquiao signing led to an arbitrated settlement where Arum kept Pacquiao under his wings and Golden Boy Promotions gets a piece of the pie.

The presscon was attended by a multinational media corp. In fact, this writer sat next to men from Brazil, Panama, Canada, Japan and Mexico.

Of course the old guards were there too, notable Michael Marley of the Examiner and the veritable Hermie Rivera from the Philippines.
