ALA Boy RP no. 5 superflyweight Robert "Cliff Smart" Allanic gets his first main-event assignment when he trades leathers with Jerry Manganip this Sunday in a 10-round grudge rematch headlining a five-bout pro card at the Loon Cultural Center in Loon, Bohol, some 28 kilometers north of Tagbilaran City.
The 20-year-old Malabuyoc-born Allanic, a former national amateur standout, is girding for a big fight on March 18 underneath the Z Gorres-Waenpetch Chuwatana OPBF showdown.
If successful, Allanic is being groomed to vie for the RP title within this year possibly against RP 115-lb boss Eric Barcelona.
In the chief support this Sunday, Danny Boy Bontilao takes on local boy Melvin Ayudtud of Jagna in another 10-round scuffle expected to take the limelight away from the main event.
Edmund "El Martillo" Velayo, an entertaining fighter, tangles with Jun Pader in their 10-round face off. Velayo, who complements his fistic skills with acrobatic flair, hopes to return to the winning column following some so-so performances last year.
The rest of the card pits ALA Boy AJ Banal in a six-round tiff with John Clifford Ranan while Rex Malibago trades mitts with Jun Celes Tadena in the 4-round curtain-raiser.
