Promoter Aljoe Jaro is sitting on pins and needles waiting if his boxer, Denver ?The Excitement? Cuello can indeed get his title shot this year. He told this writer earlier about his worries that the World Boxing Council has received reports that he has criticized the organization and he'll look for opportunities in other sanctioning bodies for his world ranked fighter. Jaro for his part expressed his support and trust for the WBC.

Early this month, Jaro informed philboxing regarding his communications with WBC secretary general Mauricio Sulaiman about Cuello's possible title shot. The reply was that newly crowned WBC world champion Kazuto Ioka will defend against Juan Hernandez and if Hernandez wins, a rematch with Cuello would be great and if Ioka wins and goes ahead with his plan to move up in weight then Cuello could fight for the vacant title. Cuello suffered a 3rd round DQ loss last year in Mexico when he already had Hernandez down.

Jaro has stated for the record that he does not want to leave the WBC and has nothing but respect for the organization.

For fight fans who missed the Denver Cuello vs Samat Chaiyong fight, Promoter Aljoe Jaro has informed that the fight will be replayed on GMA on April 3 at 10AM -12 noon on its QTV channel or GMA News channel as it is now known.
