Cebu City ? The cast of PINOY PRIDE 3: THE REMATCH met the Cebu Press for the final press conference held Thursday noon at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug. Rey ?BoomBoom? Bautista (29W-2L, 22 KO?s) reacted to Mexico?s Alejandro ?Zorrito? Barrera?s criticism that he has a glass jaw.

?We will see Saturday night.? Bautista said, ?He should not just talk. Barrera has been knocked out by someone who has more than 20 losses, I was knocked out by a world champion. Let?s see who has a glass jaw.?

Barrera (21W-4L, 14 KO?s) said he never saw anything out of the ordinary from Bautista in their first fight. Fans and Team Barrera demanded this 10 round featherweight grudge rematch after the Mexican lost by TKO due to a cut in the fourth round. Barrera felt he had the momentum and was on the verge of knocking Bautista out.

Bautista (L) and Barrera.

Pagara (L) and Sumba.

Dapudong (L) and Efendi.

?Changing the ring doctor will not be a problem, We?ll knock out BoomBoom? was one of the more attention grabbing statements from Team Barrera.

With regards to Barrera training with Daniel Ponce de Leon, who knocked out Bautista during the Boxing World Cup 2007, BoomBoom said, ?That?s good, my anger with DeLeon has been awakened.?

ALA Gym trainers Edito and Edmund Villamor do not expect this fight to go the distance as both boxers came prepared. They are aware of Barrera?s survival instincts. They plan to go to the body more this time.

Barrera countered that this will not be problem. He also has no weight problems this time.

ALA Promotions Pres. Michael Aldeguer said that a De Leon ? Bautista rematch would be a dream fight.

Jayson Pagara (24W-1L, 13 KO?s) will face Billy Sumba (18W-2L-1D, 4 KO?s) of Indonesia in a 10 round jr.welterweight fight. The 19 year old Pagara won his first pro title, the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight crown, when he was 15 years old. He subsequently won the WBO Youth Asia-Pacific lightweight and Philippine lightweight belts. Pagara is on a hot streak, having stopped his last three opponents.

Sumba is the Indonesian lightweight champion. He promises a good performance and said that he came here to win.

THE STING VS THE COBRA: THIS IS NOT AN ENERGY DRINK COMMERCIAL

Edrin ?The Sting? Dapudong (20W-3L, 11 KO?s) squares off against Sofyan ?The Cobra? Effendi (10W-10L-2D, 8 KO?s) of Indonesia in a 10 round jr.flyweight contest.

Last year, Dapudong won the WBC Silver flyweight title in Mexico by knocking out hometown boy Jesus Jimenez in a single round. Dapudong lost his title in his return trip to Mexico on points to Wilbert Uicab.

Effendi is no stranger to Filipino fight fans, having gone the distance against Florante Condes and Milan Melindo. It was only Batawang who managed to stop him.

Dapudong stopped Batawang two years ago in seven rounds at the Cebu Coliseum in one of the best local fights of 2009.

PABA bantamweight champion Roli Gasca (15W-1L, 2 KO?s) of Barili, Cebu will fight Joash Apericio (7W-3L, 4 KO?s ) of the Sajulga stable of Cagayan de Oro in an eight round non-title bout.

In a four round special attraction, fans look forward to the side-splitting antics of Jun ?Flash? Intor in his fight against Albert Villacampa.

Rey Melligen vs Robert Alcala (lightweights 4 rounds) and Zaldy Aroa vs Robert Awetin (4 rounds superflyweights) complete the undercards. Official weigh-in of the adversaries will be on Friday. Fight day is on Saturday. Heavy rains continue to hit Cebu but fans are expected to come on time, 6PM at the Pacific Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

The fights will be broadcast by ABS-CBN Sunday morning, Jan. 30, starting at 10:30am.
