Cebu City ? Boxing fans in the Queen City of the South had an extra treat during their weekend afternoon shopping at the mall when Rey ?BoomBoom? Bautista, Jason Pagara and Roli Gasca had a public work out at the Atrium of the SM Cebu City Mall Saturday afternoon to promote the PINOY PRIDE 3 fight card.
They performed the routine boxers? workout consisting of warm-ups, stretching, skipping rope, and shadow boxing. They proceeded to hit the punch mitts with the ALA Gym trainers.
Bautista spoke to the appreciative crowd and talked about his upcoming rematch with Alejandro Barrera of Mexico. BoomBoom promised a more convincing outcome this time around. In their first encounter last August, Bautista won by 4th round TKO after a legal blow inflicted a cut on Barrera?s eyebrow. But the fans and the Mexican camp wanted a better conclusion prompting ALA Promotions to stage this rematch.
Free tickets were given during the question and answer session hosted by master of ceremonies and ring announcer John Magat of Y101 FM.
Fans crowded the stage after the workout as they had photo sessions with the three boxers.
Pagara will fight Billy Sumba of Indonesia while Gasca will face Joash Apericio in the undercard. Gasca will make his Waterfront debut after his stunning sixth round upset knockout win over world ranked Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat in Thailand for the Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) bantamweight title.
Also seeing action will be former WBC Silver flyweight titlist Edrin ?The Sting? Dapudong versus Sofyan Effendi of Indonesia and in a four round special attraction, the hilarious Jun ?Flash? Entor versus Albert Villacampa.
PINOY PRIDE 3: THE REMATCH will be held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel on January 29 and fight time is at 6PM.
