MORALES DOING WELL AFTER SERIES OF BRAIN TESTS

LAS VEGAS--After the terrible beating he received from Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao, Mexico's Erik Morales was cleared by doctors at the Valley Medical Hospital here of any head injuries he might have suffered following his 10th-round technical knockout loss last Saturday at the Thomas and Mack Center.

Speaking to reporters from his home in San Diego, California, where he immediately retreated following his one-sided defeat at the hands of Pacman, Morales disclosed that he had undergone a series of head tests but was subsequently cleared by physicians, and indicated that he will have to spend enough time to rest before he could make any announcement on his future career plans.

While he allows himself to heal, Morales, who was wearing stitches on his right eyebrow, has already lined up his own boxing promotions to keep himself busy, as well as the other business interests that he has put up from all his ring earnings.

Immediately after his defeat, Morales conferred with his promoter Bob Arum and manager Fernando Beltran, where he was assured of their full-suport whatever decision he makes.

"Time will tell if and when I need to hang up my gloves. But my plan is to possibly return with determination and retire gracefully," Morales told Box-latino.

Morales, accompanied by his wife Andrea Mora, who is expecting their first child Erik Isaac II next month, offered food to relatives and members of his team at their San Diego home following their return from Las Vegas.
