Downtown Los Angeles, CA:- Top Rank Promotions and its partner, Zanfer Promotions today held the final presscon leading to the big fight this Saturday at the Honda Center at Anaheim, California.
The event was held at the Millennium Baltmore Hotel, a hotel icon in the middle of the Los Angeles downtown area in front of the famed Pershing Square Park.
The following are some of the quotes and photos from the event:
Arum:
?We dubbed the fight card ?In Harms Way? to demonstrate the danger these fighters face every time they fight and every fight in the card has a chance of going either way.
"Little did we know that the fight card itself would be in harms way. First, Alfonso Gomez the original opponent of Cesar Chavez Jr got hurt and had to cancel. Then Chavez himself got sick and can?t fight. Luckily we had so many other fighters in the card to allow it to go. We have four televised fights and they are very good fights.
?We finally convinced HBO to televise and event involving bantamweights. So on February 19th, the winner between the Donaire?Sydorenko fight will face Fernando Montiel live on HBO."
Siderenko: ?I am 100% ready after training hard in Ukraine and here. I thank my promoter and Top Rank for this opportunity and I know that I will give a good show on Saturday night.?
Donaire, Jr.: "Sydorenko is a good fighter. I am in the best condition in my life for this fight and he is gonna be in the best condition too so this is going to be a great fight.?
In Harms Way will be produced and distributed by Top Rank and will be broadcast in PPV beginning at 9PM ET/6PMPT in HD TV where available. Suggested retail price is $44.95
Tickets priced at $200, $100, $50 and $30 are on sale and available at the Hondo Center and TicketMaster (800-745-3000).
