Grapevine, Texas -- Team Elorde, headed by the husband and wife team of Johnny and Lisa Elorde, this morning pronounced their fighter as trimmed and ready to go.
This morning Bai Elorde (11-1-0,4KO) who will be facing Angel Rodriguez (5-4-2, 4KO) of Houston and Dennis Laurente (34-3-4, 17KO) who will face Rashad Holloway (11-1-2,5KO) had their final medical check-up prior to the weigh-in this afternoon.
Both fighters came out with flying colors. ?Ready na po ako? (I am ready) said Elorde who will be making his US debut.
Laurente on the other hand was in his usual shy manner. ?Wala pong problema, laban na laban na po. ( I have no problems and I am set for battle).
The elder Elordes are hoping for a good showing from Bai because a victory tomorrow night will lead to more fights under the Top Rank banner. ?We do not have a contract with them but it is understood that more fights will come if we win,? Johnny Elorde said.
This writer who is a licensed ?cutman? in Texas, California and Nevada will be assisting both Bai and Dennis in their corners together with Buboy Fernandez.
