Roli Gasca (14W-1L, 2 KO) won the Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) bantamweight title with a 6th round KO over Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat in Buriram, Thailand. Rachawat (34W-2L, 23 KO's) suffered only his second career loss. He is considered the star fighter of Bangkok's famed Galaxy Promotions and has not lost since 2005. This fight was even labeled as a super championship. The Thai won this title in 2005 with a 3rd round TKO over Allan Fuentes.
ALA Promotions patriarch Antonio Aldeguer relayed the news and was delighted with Gasca's win because Na Rachawat is ranked number 3 by the WBA. The 21 year old Gasca is from Barili, Cebu. He is known more for his smooth boxing style and scored only the second stoppage win of his career. Last July, Gasca beat former WBO Asia-Pacific bantamweight titlist Jason Egera by unanimous decision at the Gaisano Country Mall Carpark in Cebu City.
This win will certainly boost Gasca up the world rankings. The WBA world bantamweight champ is Anselmo Moreno of Panama.
