
ALA ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH VIVA

ALA Promotions signed a marketing partnership with Viva Entertainment that will enable the boxers from the ALA Gym to expand their horizons outside of boxing and benefit financially from product endorsements and showbiz-related appearances. The announcement of the partnership and contract signing was done in a press conference held Friday noon at the Cebu Grand Hotel in Escario St., Cebu City.
ALA Promotions President Michael Aldeguer and VIVA Entertainment CEO Mr. Vic Del Rosario said that this partnership will lead maximize the earning potential of the boxers. ALA Promotions will pick what products are suitable for their fighters to endorse. Mr. Del Rosario said that Viva can create a style and add glamor to the boxers. Viva interfere with the sports management side or with regards to training and opponents.
WBO minimumweight champ Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes, AJ ?Bazooka? Banal and Rey ?BoomBoom? Bautista were in attendance and were excited with the partnership with Viva Artists Agency which has been responsible for the successful marketing of celebrities in this country. When asked hypothetically if aside from product endorsements, what would they do in showbiz if given the chance, AJ said that singing or acting will not be a problem, Donnie would sing and dance rather than act and BoomBoom said that action films were more to his liking.

Mr.Aldeguer hopes that this will elad to bigger things for their fighters. He also said that this will help in their plan to have Nietes stage a title defense here in the Philippines but it will be in February 2011 and not this December.
Mr. Del Rosario hopes to tap into the potential of athletes as entertainers and celebrity endorsers citing Manny Pacquiao's success as a product endorser, actor and singer.
